The Plainview Public Library is raising funds to install an outdoor locker to allow local patrons to pick up materials when the library is closed. Patrons will use the PIN associated with their account to access a key that allows them to open their assigned compartment. Materials will already be checked out, ready to grab and go.
This project will extend library services to people who have difficulties getting to the library during open hours including students in sports, persons working out-of-town, and farming community members whose days are dependent upon weather.
The project cost is estimated at $5000.
