Salsa del Soul concert at Eastwood Park

EDITED 2:30PM Thursday, June 30

Due to the possibility of storms, the Salsa del Soul concert will be held inside the Plainview Public Library at 6pm this evening. We recommend bringing lawn chairs!

On Thursday, June 30 @ 6pm the library is sponsoring a concert by the musical ensemble Salsa del Soul. Salsa del Soul was formed with the purpose of providing great dance music for Minnesota Salsa fans. Their Quartet performs various styles of music from the Spanish-speaking regions of the Caribbean including Son, Son Montuno, Plena, Cha-cha-cha, Bachata, Timba, and, of course, Salsa. Everyone is invited! This project is funded by a grant from the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund, so there is no cost to attend!

Closed for Juneteenth

The Library will be closed on Monday, June 20 in observance of Juneteenth Freedom Day which commemorates the ending of slavery in the United States. Black people in Galveston, TX were the last to hear about the Emancipation Proclamation and this occurred on June 19, 1865.
