Families are invited to come and celebrate the installation of the first of 2 Little Free Libraries (LFLs) in Plainview.  There will be Farm-tastic stories with Miss Meg, a sing-along with Professor Giuseppe, and root beer floats for all.

A LFL is a free exchange providing books to children and adults that might not otherwise have easy access to reading materials.  Funded by the Plainview Area Foundation, the intent of this project is to promote literacy for all residents of Plainview as well as to celebrate our rural heritage.

Our LFLs were designed and constructed by Mike Burke, Don Lammers, and Melissa Ozment.   Each library features materials that have been reclaimed from local farms by Barndogglers, a local business that seeks to find, re-purpose, and document the history of old barns and buildings.

LFLs are intended for everyone to use.  Community members and visitors are encouraged to take a book, share a book, or leave a note in a particularity discussion-worthy book.  The more the community engages with our LFLs, the more significant their impact will become.
