Follow along with The Joy of Painting’s Bob Ross as he creates one of his paintings. Thanks to assistance from a grant from the Plainview Area Foundation, we will provide your tools and supplies. You provide a willingness to make “Happy Accidents” and wear clothing that can get messy. Preference will be given to those who have not had a chance to participate in a past paint-along.
Star Belle Ukulele Band is a trio of Nebraska based singer-songwriters with folk, country, and Americana roots. These ladies bring tight harmonies, humor, and a commitment to promoting arts in rural locations.
Their visit to Plainview on Saturday, March 9th will consist of two parts:
A 1:00 pm workshop at Green Prairie Assisted Living’s chapel. Community members are invited to join the band in learning some ukulele tips and tricks and a song or two. Folks who participate in the workshop are invited to come to the evening’s concert and play along with what they learned in the workshop. Registration is required on our Sign-Up Form.
A 6:00 pm concert at the Plainview Public Library. This event is open to the public and does not require a ticket or registration. Our weekend concerts are a great opportunity for family entertainment, but the library has limited seating. If you are opposed to sitting on the floor, we recommend bringing lawn chairs.
If this event must be cancelled due to weather, we will announce it here and on Facebook.
This project is made possible with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund and the people of Minnesota for Library Legacy activities.
